Acromegaly Awareness Day

Today is Acromegaly Awareness Day.

It’s 9 years ago this month since I had a benign tumour removed from my Pituitary gland. This tumour had been growing for years and caused an illness called Acromegaly.

Acro is a sly little shit; symptoms are subtle and you know something’s wrong but you can’t say why. However, diagnosis can be difficult — mine was purely by accident! If you notice any of these symptoms in yourself or others, contact a GP.

Please share and help awareness and let’s give Acro the boot.

To mark this special day, I made a couple of posters. #MyAcroShoes was to help individuals with Acromegaly spread awareness, but I also made a graphic highlighting some of the key signs to look out for.
